I think I’m gonna start a new daily post series. It’ll be called Why I Can’t Stand Bernie Sanders. Because I think some of you, especially if you aren’t as deep in this stuff as I am (and trust, there are people who go way deeper), don’t really understand how awful Sanders is and how toxic most of his supporters are. You might think he’s a good guy. I did, once. Until the receipts started rolling in.
I’m not doing this for fun, either. I actually don’t want to ever think about Sanders ever (which is why I haven’t written that much about him … that, and the fact that the material is endless and hard to organize; Bernie’s so awful someone could write a book on it). But he’s forcing the issue, because I sure as hell don’t want to see him get the nomination.
Here’s the first one: Sanders is running an ad accusing Joe Biden of wanting to cut Social Security. That is a lie. A flat, boldfaced lie. He pulled a clip out of context, a clip from a 1995 speech Biden gave in the Senate. At the time, there had been a government shutdown because the Republicans wanted a “balanced budget” (the whole thing for show, of course, like it always is with them), and Democrats Ted Kennedy, Tom Daschle, and Biden were giving impassioned speeches on the floor, trying to keep the government running and SAVE entitlements. When it was Biden’s turn, he attempted to educate the Republicans about the economics of it and made it obvious how unwilling they were to work to keep the government open and to NOT touch entitlements. (Republicans have been shit for a long, long time.)
Fast forward to 2020: Bernie’s people searched through hours of footage until they found a clip they could take out of context. And they used it in an ad, telling lies about a man who’s been a Democrat his entire life. But Sanders is completely willing to lie about Democrats to get into power, even if that means giving an advantage to Trump and the GOP. And that’s today’s Why I Can’t Fucking Stand Bernie Sanders.
